Thank you for helping make UPwithART such an enormous success. T’was indeed the arty-party for relief of homelessness… and after-arty-party!

This event is deeply meaningful to our cause for the community it creates among us, in the increasing respect it generates for all of us and the support it draws for the Unity Project and its Life Skills program. Thank you ALL!

350 great guests!
83 wonderful works!
78 awesome artists!
30 super sponsors!
40 vivacious volunteers!
… $48,000 net raised!

The art was utterly great… bravo artists! What a picture you created! The Collectors’ Collection was an incredible example of community sharing. 14 collectors shared the happiness that works from their private collections had provided to them. The UPwithARTists Collection was a significant marvel of artist generosity, talent and beauty. Oh So Artful offered experiential options like a Cigar Night invitation, a Dinner at an artists’ home and the Winescape mystery drawings. The New School of Colour exhibit, including youth, Unity Project resident and community resident artists, was a rich display of great art, inspired and well-received; and sold at an average 124% of value.

Every year something new, original… wow! Tanis MacDonald’s poem, built with words donated by Unity Project residents to question the answer “what is Unity” was tragic, cute, sublime – everything that a day in the life at Unity Project is. Blended with young Nico Hoekstra’s cello music and Jeremy Jeresky and Donnie Claudino’s Jeopardy game-show style Word-Wall, it made for a profoundly stirring performance.

A special shout out to Youth Opportunities Unlimited for providing the catering, both delicate and hardy, abundant and delicious. And to Forked River Brewing, London’s very own micro-brewery, who donated two tasty beers on tap and kept them flowing all night.

Let us mention once again, and so honour My Life in Colour award recipient, Terry Dietzthe inspirational, influential and artful person of 2014.

Your feedback is welcome and please, click here to see event photos by Cory Downing.  We enjoyed your good company, whether in making or being the scene. Whether sponsor, volunteer, artist, or guest…you made a big red carpet splash at The Palace Theatre, Old East Village, London, Ontario, Canada, The World.

Please give our community of supporters your props and your business; they gave from the heart of theirs!
