Hannan attended Sheridan College’s Craft and Design program where she studied glass and developed her work for three years, graduating in 2016. Following her second year at college she was awarded a student residency at Harbourfront Centre and was able to keep practicing her craft through the summer months. Since graduating Hannan has been working towards building her collaborative art studio in London and has been exhibiting her work regularly throughout Ontario and internationally.
Hannan Fayad is a glass artist working in a unique, sculptural style. Highlights of her pieces are smooth rock-like surfaces, forms that balance geometry and organic composition, striking colours that range from earth- tones to soft pastels, and fragile edges that appear sharp but are smooth to the touch. The work that goes into each piece, the envisioning, the intense heat of the hot-shop, the hours cold working, and the end result are expressions of the artists voice, and her design sense.
