Artist Statement:

I recreated this ink drawing from a sketch I made in 2019, while I was in London visiting my brother. I went to the grocery store one evening to get milk. A woman and a man sitting in the plaza asked if I had any change to spare. We got to talking, and exchanged some stories that guided our conversation to the Unity Project. I was encouraged that we all knew of it. This ink drawing, which I think of as a one-panel comic, is an interpretation of that evening’s narrative.

Vintage wines behind these works are Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages (France, 2018, $18) and the one special bottle, Chateau Giscours Margaux (France, 2015, $195). Many thanks to Ron and Susan Holliday for donating the wine, and also to Anonymous for donating 2 of vintage bottles In Honour of Rob O’Dowda’s Birthday!
