Artist Bio:

Born in London, Ontario 1949. Independent visual artist, socialist justice activist and gardener since 1971. Benner has works in the collections of The National Gallery of Canada, Art Gallery of Ontario, Museum London, Art Museum University of Toronto, and the Art Gallery of Windsor. He was an early member of the Forest City Gallery and co-founder of the Embassy Cultural House, in London, Ontario. Upcoming exhibitions include the Map Library, at McMaster University, organized by Pamela Edmonds and curated by William Kingfisher.

Artist Statement:

Trans/mission: Barley Corn Maize is a mixed media installation commissioned and curated by Sandy Saad for the Loft Gallery, Visual Arts Centre of Clarington, Bomanville, Ontario for the year of 2019. The Visual Arts Centre is a former barley mill.
