Jessica Woodward – 2020 Winescape #1

The winning bid includes a bottle of vintage wine and a $50 gift certificate to Framing & Art Centre (new location – Horton St).

Value: $275

Artist Statement:

In “Echo” I wanted to describe a moment from my past and was interested in how memories are formed and retained. Is it in a scent, a word, a vision, an action, a song, a feeling or some combination of it all? Is it deja-vu or was it really there as if seen through a fog or existing in a moment you cannot place? This is a memory of my childhood when I was feeling grown up in a situation that I have replayed as a mother. Described through layers, some transparent while others mask what isn’t quite there.

Vintage wines behind these works are Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages (France, 2018, $18) and the one special bottle, Chateau Giscours Margaux (France, 2015, $195). Many thanks to Ron and Susan Holliday for donating the wine, and also to Anonymous for donating 2 of vintage bottles In Honour of Rob O’Dowda’s Birthday!
