UPwithART 2019 was an enormous success, raising just under $150,000 for Unity Project and Museum London, with 450 attendees and 72 works of art! Moving the event to Museum London’s new public space, Centre at the Forks, overlooking the Eshkani-ziibi / Thames River was the perfect setting. The installation of the work in the Atrium and throughout the entirety of the Centre beautifully embraced the new facility.
The artwork, whether from senior, established, or emerging artists, was museum-calibre and the venue heightened its presentation, extending a level of respect to the artists, many of whom had never shown in a museum before.
Museum London has played a significant role in UPwithART’s success as Unity Project for Relief of Homelessness’ signature fundraising event over the past eight years. The partnership between our two organizations in 2019 took London’s arts community and social justice to new heights for the ninth annual event. It truly felt like a coming together of two communities.
