Bio:
Jeff Willmore is a London-based artist, Ontario, whose work combines painting, performance and storytelling. His paintings are held in the collections of The University of Western Ontario, Museum London, and the Canada Council Art Bank. After graduating from Fanshawe with a Diploma of Fine Art in 1980, he exhibited at Museum London, Nancy Poole’s gallery in Toronto, the London Forest City Gallery including its annual performance arts festival and McIntosh Gallery. Awards include Ontario Arts Council – Mid Career Grant, 2014, The Canadian Emerging Artist Prize, sponsored by Connor Clark Private Trust and the Canadian Art Foundation – Second Prize, 1999, and numerous Ontario Arts Council – Materials Assistance Grants. His work has evolved to include numerous images of figures viewed from above, as exhibited in ‘Interpolating Landscape’, a major exhibition at Museum London. A solo exhibition, ‘Ariel Selections’ is upcoming at St. Thomas/Elgin Public Art Centre, St. Thomas, Ontario, November 14 – January 2, 2016.
