Artist Statement:

Since last summer, I have been foraging wildflowers and plants to make my own watercolour paint that I apply on handmade Japanese paper made of the long fibres of Mulberry barks. I have developed an intimate relationship with the materials as I employ their surprising biochemical properties. Anthocyanin pigments, for example, change colour depending on the pH value of the environment they are exposed to. In any of my work, I only use three pigments. As they interact on the paper, they turn into a myriad of colours taking an active role in shaping the look of my work.
