Artist Bio:

Geordie Shepherd (BFA Concordia University 1991, MFA University of New Mexico 2004) has exhibited across Canada, the United States, and Europe and explores themes of memory, place and narrative using clay and drawing. His recent exhibitions include the 2017 Clay & Glass Show at Wychwood Barns in Toronto, and the 2016 Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, and also exhibited at the 4th Ceramics Annual of America in San Francisco, the 9e Biennale de Céramique in Trois-Rivières. Geordie has participated in multiple residencies at the Banff Arts Centre is a recipient of the Brucebo Canadian-Scandinavian Foundation Award and was Administrative Director to the Colart Collection. He currently teaches at the University of Western Ontario and maintains a studio in London, Ontario.

Artist Statement:

‘This sculpture is part of a series using the female bust to explore variations in form, and surface and persona, even though they are all cast from the same die.’
