‘I was born and raised on a sugar cane farm in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, also spending many happy vacations at our family beach cottage on the Indian Ocean.
After completing law school in South Africa and compulsory military service, I settled in London in 1989. I went to Western Law School and became a lawyer in 1994. I live in London, Ontario, and am a partner in the Siskinds LLP business law group.
My interest in art was stimulated by my father who painted in watercolour and oils. I did not take up painting earnestly as an adult until about 2002. I am self-taught. I paint mainly in watercolour, with some oil and acrylic.
My subjects are mainly landscapes, seascapes and some urban scenes. I am inspired by the open spaces of Africa, the vast Canadian landscape and images from my travels.’
