Greg Curnoe is one of Canada’s most important artists and a strong advocate for artists’ rights. A highly prolific artist, his works are in the collections of many art galleries across Canada, including the National Gallery of Canada, The Art Gallery of Ontario and Museum London. His estate is represented by Michael Gibson Gallery in London.
The Map/Brain drawing was created by Curnoe to illustrate how the brain of the Canadian art student was being educated. Greg Curnoe had used this image for his 1981 retrospective exhibition at the National Gallery of Canada and the London Regional Art Gallery (Museum London). It was taken from the bottom half of a drawing titled It Was Perfectly Normal, 3 March 1980.
