Bio:
Peter Karas has been working as a professional artist for the last fifteen years. He has a degree in Visual Arts from the University of Victoria (1996), and has painted from one end of the country to the other. Peter’s work is mostly of architectural subjects and done in brilliant, harmonious colour; his work is based in the imagination, but also grounded in reality. An avid studio artist, you’re likely to find him hunched over the easel most days and times. His inspirations range far and wide – from childrens’ book illustrations and popular animated motion pictures, to fine artists such as E.J. Hughes and the prairie artist Walter J. Phillips. Peter’s work resides in the collection of clients across Canada and around the globe. Along with his studio practice, he teaches art both one on one, and in the classroom through Fanshawe Continuing Education.Peter maintains a studio (with his partner, artist Corinne Garlick) at their home in the SoHo area of London.
