Artist Bio:
Ted Goodden, a visual artist working primarily in stained glass, lives on Hornby Island, B.C., Canada after working much of his life in London, Ont. He is also a sculptor and mixed media artist. Over his long and prestigious career, he has created hundreds of works that hang in public and private collections, and his stained glass creations have been shown in solo and group shows for the past forty years. His main practice is creating customized, one-of-a-kind stained glass works for residential and public spaces.
Artist Statement:
Ted Goodden was deeply affected by 9/11 in 2001, the events of which are referenced in this work, and explains the smokey opacity of the glass and the “sketched” approach he took in its making, working it up as he went along. This work is part of a series concerning the events of 9/11.
