Artist Bio:
Stephen Livick was born in Castleford, England in 1945 and grew up in Montreal. He currently lives and works in Lion’s Head, Ontario. His work is found in public and private collections throughout Canada and the United States, including the National Gallery of Canada, Canada Art Bank, the Art Gallery of Ontario, and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. A self-taught photographer, Livick is widely recognized for inventing a photographic printing process that combines laser technology and gum bichromate. Since 1984, Livick has made numerous visits to India in pursuit of subject matter for his photographs and as a way of exploring Hindu spiritual beliefs.
