Antje Laidler immigrated to Canada in 1975. In 1997 she graduated from the “Special Art” diploma course at H.B. Beal, and studied under the late Bert Kloezman for 2 further years, specializing in etchings and monoprints. In recent years Antje has worked primarily on charcoal and pastel drawings. She was elected to the Ontario Society of Artists in 1988. Antje has exhibited widely in solo and group shows, many of them juried, at public and private galleries throughout southern Ontario. Her work is in collections of the McIntosh Gallery at Western University, the University of Toronto Art Centre, the St. Thomas-Elgin Art Centre, the Thames Art Gallery, Chatham, and the Woodstock Art Gallery, as well as in many corporate and private collections not only in Canada, but also the U.S., Australia, Germany, Ireland, Britain and Switzerland. She is currently represented by Thielsen Gallery.
