In the fall of 2020, a visit to Springbank Park and its’ pumphouse occurred. A beautiful structure but what I remember from the 1980’s very smelly. “ Sulphur, what Sulphur?” my friend asked. As we got closer to the pumphouse small whiffs of sulphur started to greeted us. “ Not too bad.” My friend remarked but as we examined the carved names and dates that are on the pumphouse’s brick exterior, the frequency of the sulphur waves became unbearable. We went to the other side of the building and found picnic tables and clean air. Pumphouse @ Springbank was made possible by the Ontario Arts Council.
