Andrew Tremblay, AKA Irish was born in London, Ontario in 1975. His mother was a 19 year old Irish immigrant, unable to support a newborn, and chose to give Andrew up for adoption at birth. Andrew identifies deeply with his Irish heritage and has struggled all his life to find his place in Canada. Andrew was homeless for approximately 20 years and has struggled with addictions and mental health concerns for most of his life. Andrew has no formal training in the arts but has been painting since he was a child. he attributes hi love and passion for painting to a retired teach from Western University who lived in his neighbourhood and provided Andrew with art supplies.
Andrew’s inspiration comes mostly from nature and his concerns for the environment. He encourages people to pay attention to climate change and its effect on the earth. When Andrew is not painting, he enjoys camping and clearing brush along trails near the Thames River. Andrew has a great zest for life and an enthusiasm for supporting others through their personal struggles by sharing his own experiences.
