UPwithART 2.0 - 24-30 May 2020

Memory – Japan May 3, 1998

Donated by Terry Sicular & Kim Moodie

I acquired this work as part of a printing project I was involved in in the 1990s. I have known Wanda for over 25 years and have always admired her work.

Wanda Koop is regarded as one of Canada’s most influential contemporary artists. Her work explores urbanization, industrialization and technology as it interferes with the natural world, asking us to reconsider information and imagery we receive through media. Koop has been appointed a member of the Order of Canada and has received honorary doctorates from the University of Winnipeg, the University of Manitoba, and Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
