Exciting New Features
Door Prize
Event tickets purchased by Friday May 3 at 3 pm will be entered in draw to win a colourful quilt collaboratively made by members of the London Modern Quilt Guild. This gorgeous quilt inspired by the guild’s emblem, uses improv piecing with small components carefully stitched together to create a dynamic whole featuring organic wave patterns and a sense of movement.
Original Performance
As the auction winds down, singer, songwriter and poet, Jenny Berkel, winds us up with a multi-sensory celebration of connectedness and care.
InterActivity
Stitch hope and warmth into our community through the Unity Quilt. The London Modern Quilt Guild will be on site with sewing machines and ironing boards, inviting attendees to create fabric squares, each simply illustrating your response to prompts which engage us in considering homelessness and home. These drawn squares will be sewn into a meaningful quilt symbolizing respect, compassion, cooperation, and interdependence to adorn and warm communal space at Unity Project’s emergency shelter. Share your contribution, and let's collectively create a positive impact.
The Year of the Quilt - Door Prize!
UPwithART embraces the theme of the quilt this year, inviting attendees to contribute to the Unity Quilt, explore historical quilts from Museum London's collection, and bid on a quilt made by Unity Project’s own Chuck Lazenby in the silent auction. Additionally, every event attendee who purchased their ticket prior to by Friday May 3 at 3 pm will be entered to win this beautiful abstract quilt made by the London Modern Quilt Guild.
This year's performer, Jenny Berkel
Singer-songwriter and poet Jenny Berkel draws layers of far-reaching concern into particular moments, like concentric waves rippling inward toward a lone cast stone. A songwriter immersed in poetry, a poet immersed in music—her work in all its forms is an invitation into a world of relatable introspection, in which even absences can be sculpted into vividly memorable verse.
Get ready for Jenny's multi-sensory performance at 9:30 pm
Limited Edition Tote-Bag - $40
Purchase your souvenir of this memorable night: a limited-edition cotton tote bag printed with a design by artist Rain Fenek Bloodworth called “Out of luck, full of hope.”
"I became homeless when I was sixteen-years-old as a consequence of generational trauma, addiction, and other forces beyond my control. Yet, I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have been surrounded by friends and neighbours that didn’t let me fall through the cracks. Luck is not a resource we should be counting on to help the disenfranchised. Our time is better spent creating sustainable community support, breaking down barriers cross-culturally, and building trust by understanding the needs of the most vulnerable. I believe that holding hope for a better future drives people to make a better world, and luck has no place in a compassionate, collaborative community that can give everybody a place to call home."
**This little gem available to arty-party attendees only.

Unity Project
Unity Project for Relief of Homelessness in London provides housing-outcome focused emergency shelter, supportive housing and in-home housing stability supports for adults and youth of all genders, with a focus on those with medical conditions, including couples and people with pets. A Housing First approach is embedded throughout Unity Project services as providing housing with supports is proven to rapidly end homelessness, reduce use of public and emergency services, and improve individual quality of life and community integration. Values of respect, cooperation, interdependence and compassion inform our character. Housing outcomes drive our services. We aim to make a stay in our shelter as comfortable, productive and as short as possible — helping all those in our care to end their experience of homelessness, and find stability and belonging in community.
Museum London
In the heart of Southwestern Ontario, at the forks of the Deshkan Ziibi / Thames River, Museum London sits in a place that has always been a site of convergence, exchange, and interconnection. By activating art and history, Museum London creates deeper understandings of our past, our communities, our place in the world, and the breadth of possibilities that our future holds. Taking our region and its rich cultural, artistic, and historic legacies as a jumping off point, we co-create, reflect, and interpret ideas and stories rooted here, share them widely, and inspire local audiences by bringing relevant artistic ideas from other places home to London. Through exhibitions, our vast collections of art and artifacts, public and educational programs for learners of all ages, and memorable special events, we are building community and nurturing curiosity, creativity, and empathy. Admission to the Museum is free and everyone is welcome!
